Family keepsakes

Family keepsakes

Over the past few months we have made some wonderful keepsakes for siblings, twins and even triplets. Some customers want the bears or cushions to be exactly the same, some want them to be different. We know only too well how it is so important this can be and how it can vary so much. I myself am a twin, and we are the best of friends. Our Mum used to dress up us in the same outfits but one was blue and one was pink. By the time we were 8 years old we were desperate to be different from each other. However our friends who are twins still love their similarities. Pru has triplets as well as having a son two years older. All her children are completely different so there were a lot of outfits to organise when they were younger!! So when we receive the orders from our customers we really take note of their wishes to ensure there keepsakes are exactly as they want.

Sibling bears

There are so many different memories and some items of uniform will have greater importance for some children. A cap or scarf, sports kit or a favourite jumper. We have had a little pair of lace socks sent to us as that were a particular favourite and even a tutu.

Some family bears are not for children but for parents and grandparents. We have had some gorgeous ‘vintage’ clothing sent to us and uniforms from the 50’s and 60’s which have made wonderful keepsake gifts. We recently made a bear from an addidas top from the 70’s, with a favourite childhood shirt and cap. They had been all wrapped up and stored away in tissue for many years. They were given to our customer by her husband’s mother and she was so excited to create a keepsake Christmas gift for her husband. Something unique and memorable…she said finding gifts for him was so hard! We know the feeling!

How did it start?

tplFriends since their first children were born, Pru and Kathy are two mums whose children are now at secondary school. As a special keepsake Pru made each of her children a teddy bear out of their old school Blazers. Kathy loved the concept so they joined forces and Blazer Bear. was born.  Find out more

How does it work?

Whether it be a blazer, school uniform, rugby shirts, precious clothing babygros, the list is endless. Everything is lovingly handcrafted entirely from what you give us. If it is a group school order you are after, we can often source the fabrics and even incorporate a school emblem Find out
