This is the time of year when we get some lovely thank you letters for Blazer Bears that have arrived as children and young adults start new schools and universities. Our handmade school uniform keepsakes can be a comfort and a reminder of happy memories as school nervously start pastures new. Starting afresh takes time, as they build new friendships and to get to know new routines and expectations.
As parents are biggest wish is for our children to be happy. You can often be surrounded by so many points of view and opinions it can feel overwhelming. It is so important to match your child with the right school and not be swayed by others opinions and trends.
Last year we went to the Independent Schools Show, which was a fantastic opportunity for parents to meet and speak to a huge variety of schools. The ethos of each school will suit different children and allows you to ask all the questions you want to away from the school environment. Finding out specialism and areas of excellence whether academic, art, sport hat suit your child’s interests. It may be that you are looking for excellent SEN support or a reputation for pastoral care.
Having been to the fair we were approached by lots of schools to make them a mascot Blazer Bear. The variety of uniforms we received was fantastic and it was interesting how different aspects of the uniform held different importance. For some the beanie hat or scarf held sentimental memories for others the more obvious sport tops, ties and sports colours.
As a result of these mascot bears we have had many parents and whole year groups ordering a school uniform keepsake bear for their school leavers! We have sewn a wide variety of nametags,, sports colours and achievements to many school keepsake bears. Some bears are emblazoned with special memories such as birthday badges or centenary celebrations and house colours.
Each bear is handmade and bespoke, which is very labour intensive. WE work very hard with our Blazer Bear team to ensure the highest quality is achieved with every bear. We aim to offer the highest customer service to ensure every Blazer Bear is unique and crafted to every customers design. We are always on hand to discuss the design and happy to help decide which parts of the uniform to use.
In the New Year we will be launching new packaging so that every bear arrives in a Blazer Bear gift box and as last year we have started sending out beautifully wrapped gift vouchers for Christmas. Friends since their first children were born, Pru and Kathy are two mums whose children are now at secondary school.
