Keepsake Bears Signed

Not only have we been busy completing our large group orders for leavers we have also been sending lots of individual orders off to their new homes. We love the variety of keepsake bears we are asked to make and the last few weeks this has been no exception!

We have had several orders to make bears from clothing lovingly signed by friends on the last day of school! Comments and pictures from good friends with touching sentiment or funny drawings cover dresses, shirts and ties. As is often the case these penned special articles are much loved but tucked away in drawers for years to come. By using these garments and creating a keepsake bear, these memories can be kept alive!

We were sent this yellow sweatshirt form a girl who had since moved on to secondary school in Berkshire. It came with another sports top with all her sporting colours. We endeavour to include as many of the names as possible and can include more on the scarf. So as not to hide any of the signatures we put the colours on the scarf. We were so delighted to hear how thrilled they were with their new keepsake bear and that it would be much treasured. So pleased they sent us more clothing to make another Blazer Bear.

This new bear was to be created from a signed summer dress. It was a vibrant yellow and blue striped material and we were also given a school jumper and sports top. The colourful bear with the emblazoned signatures looked very smart with yellow paws and ears. We used the jumper and top to create a scarf and again added badges. A lovely keepsake bear and can be kept out of the drawer as a reminder of  school days and friends.

This week we have a  signed summer dress, jumper and blazer from Alleyns School in Dulwich. They have asked for the bear to be made from the signed dress and to use the jumper and and blazer badge as a scarf. We were delighted to find out that this keepsake bear is a second order from a very happy customer who had a bear made from a previous school.

We have also been asked to combine uniform to create a keepsake bear incorporating memories form 4 schools over several years! A surprise 18^th birthday gift, which we loved making. The patterns and materials were very varied but we managed to use each item sent to us. After the birthday we heard that the bear was a huge success and will be cherished for years to come.

We have almost finished 25 large bears a surprise gift form the a prep school for their Year 8 leavers. These bears will be finding their new homes after half term as the fair season begins momentum. Now all we need is some summer sun!
