Leavers Keepsake Bears

Blazer Bear closed the workshop for 3 weeks this summer as we went off on our respective holidays. We returned to a mountain of green bags!! It was quite exciting to open all the packages to see where they had come from and what was inside!! With so many children starting new schools we have had a host of leavers keepsake bears to make all adorned with memories of their time at school.

There were packages from all over England from Jersey to Scotland and even orders from Dubai and Australia. Since our return we have all been beavering away to make sure all the bears get to their new owners as quickly as possible and this week all the summer ones should be sent! We are now starting on the September orders.

With so many new children either starting new schools or leaving at 18 to new adventures it has been lovely to hear how much people loved receiving their special keepsake bear.

Isobel’s Blazer Bear arrived today, how fab!! It’s absolutely amazing we love it!

Thank you very much for Freddie’s blazer bear which arrived this morning.  It is great and arrived just before Freddie starts at his new school tomorrow!

We have also introduced our small Blazer Bear this year. This can be made for group orders of 10 or more. They are not bespoke as each one is identical but they still incorporate different items from the uniform and a nametag. We have sent group orders to leavers in Newcastle and Nottingham to name a few.

We also made group orders for the large Blazer Bears but these are bespoke and were designed as each customer wished. These fabulous blazers from a school that was sadly closing it’s doors made such beautiful bears, and from what we have heard treasured keepsakes from a wonderful school. Initially we were asked to make one as a gift for the Headmaster. The parents loved it so much they then got together to organize a large order for the leavers. We also loved these grey Blazer Bears with the pink trim and gorgeous scarves.

It can be so nerve racking starting somewhere new including university. After the exams there is a usually the feeling that leaving school is the most exciting thing imaginable! However it is funny how all the memories of difficult revision rules and routine vanishes very quickly and they look back at school longingly!! However it won’t be long before university life becomes the best times of the lives! We loved making this bear for a member of the Edinburgh University Rugby Tour!

This is also a very difficult time for us as parents! Having spoken to friends who have been through it already, the empty nest soon gets replaced with trips and visits to their kids university homes and lovely return home dinners….plus the bags and bags of dirty laundry….I am not sure we will be rid of this for sometime!
