The End of the School Year Approaches
The final half term holiday of the current academic year is drawing to a close; all the very best to everyone returning to school to face exams – Common Entrance, GSCEs, AS’s, A levels or even just year group exams.
At Blazer Bear we are coming up to one of our busiest times of year. The end of the Academic year yields many leavers, whether it be yr 6 or Year 8 moving to the exciting, and sometimes daunting challenges of Secondary school. Year 11 leavers moving to sixth form colleges or just moving to another school for 6th form and not to forget the A level leavers who soon will be facing work, a motivating gap year or the excitement of University.
We love making our Leavers’ Blazer Bears. As Blazer Bear was only launched in December 2011, last year was our first experience of groups of leavers. We … Read more of this post
This week has been full of excitement and extremely busy, however, not just because we have been making some lovely bears. This weekend was my little brother’s wedding! With 7 bridesmaids, it has been quite a feat to organize all the dresses, fittings and coordinate the shoes. The youngest was 4 and the oldest 23 so the design varied accordingly but worked beautifully as a group. The theme was ivory and cornflower blue, which featured as sashes or bows. Whilst making Bears, we often laugh about the way I pronounce certain words and come out with phrases such as ‘half your luck’ (I thought this was very well known) and my pronunciation of ‘Yoghurt’ as ‘Yowget’ is a constant source of amusement. Having a Swedish mother Kathy is very understanding … Read more of this post
The Courier feature on the Tunbridge Wells FC Bear
We decided to build a bear as a unique gift for Tunbridge Wells Football Club to celebrate their amazing success at reaching Wembley! This is the article that was featured in the Courier. We feel very honoured that the bear currently resides in the clubs trophy cabinet.
MASCOT BEAR SIMPLY A BEAR NECESSITY
SPELDHURST teddy bear makers Pru Wright and Kathy Moir have come up with a special Tunbridge Wells FC mascot to show their support for the team.
“It’s a fantastic achievement and, as local people, we wanted to join in the fun,” said Mrs Wright, of Etherington Hill, who took apart a club shirt to make the unique bear.
