Armed Forces Day

Saturday 29th June was Armed Forces Day. This day provided an opportunity to firstly raise public awareness of the contribution made by those who serve in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces and it gave the nation an opportunity to show support for the men and woman who make up the Armed Forces community; whether it be currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.

At the beginning of June we were contacted by a Corporal from RAF Coningsby with the possibility to making a Bear for the troops to take on tour with them. We were delighted they liked our bears and happily offered to make them a complimentary bear from their uniform.… Read more of this post

Wimbledon

Wimbledon is here!

Two weeks of exciting tennis starts this week and we wish all the fantastic British talent huge success. Andy Murray really has a real chance of winning and Laura Robson has certainly proven she can get into the top 5. We love Wimbledon fortnight but having homegrown talent in the top seeds makes it even more exciting! The queues have already started and there is a buzz around Wimbledon village.

Yesterday we spent a fantastic day at Wimbledon Village Fair, which was brilliantly organized by The Wimbledon Guild. Despite the rather wet and windy start the sun came out, as did the crowds. We met so many lovely people and enjoyed hearing about which famous tennis players they had spotted either jogging through the park or eating in their local restaurants. In honour of our visit we made a Wimbledon Blazer Bear to take pride of place, … Read more of this post

Each Blazer Tells A Story

Each Blazer Bear we make tells a story. We love imagining what each item of clothing has witnessed; exams taken, friendships made, achievements, and disappointments… endless experiences of life.

The last couple of weeks have seen a variety of Bears ranging from 2 lovely Cheltenham Ladies’ College junior school Blazer Bears to a handsome rust tartan Bear where the customer loved the fabric so much she supplied us with a length of it together with buttons for the eyes.

Speaking of stories we were very interested to hear that Nottingham High School, an independent school for boys aged 4-18 has been celebrating its 500 year anniversary this year and the grand finale is … Read more of this post

Summer Fairs

The season for school and summer fairs is underway! Having both been parents who have been active members of the PTA we know how much work, time and effort goes into these events. I always admire those who donate their time to raise money for schools or charities. Without these volunteers so much money would never be raised for such worthy causes. They are also great fun, a chance for families to have a fantastic day out!

We always keep our fingers crossed for summer weather…well no rain at least. The British stiff upper lip always prevails regardless however! Pru and I have some very funny memories of literally holding our gazebo down holding on for dear life in force 10 gales, with the fear of Blazer Bear being airborne at any moment.

We attend such a variety of fairs during the year and it is a great chance to … Read more of this post

How did it start?

tplFriends since their first children were born, Pru and Kathy are two mums whose children are now at secondary school. As a special keepsake Pru made each of her children a teddy bear out of their old school Blazers. Kathy loved the concept so they joined forces and Blazer Bear. was born.  Find out more
